English earls were wild and rowdy sots

Who ate and prayed, preyed and fought

And, killing done, fled to castles where they fucked a lot.

A bit like members of our own political class

Who primp and pose, promise and gas

And screw each other, like it or not.

 

What we need is talent of a better grade

Or something hygienic with a sharp, biting blade.

But then, violence is never the answer where politics is concerned,

A lesson oft repeated but never learned.
