On the Rocks

 

     "Are you still seeing Kimberley?"

     "No."

     "No? Too bad. What happened?"

     "She died."

     "Died?"

     "Yeah."

     "I'm so sorry. I didn’t know she was sick."

     "She wasn’t."

     "What happened?"

     "Accident. On vacation."

      "That's terrible."

     "Yeah. It was."

     “Where were you?”

     “On a cruise.”

     "A cruise?"

     "Yeah. Bahamas. We were at dinner. It got rough.”

     “And?”

     “She fell. Overboard."

     "How awful."

     "Yeah. Awful."

     "I'm...I need a drink. You?"

     "No, I'm good."
